Using Tagboard to follow #ASCA14

Image
In our Making the Most of the ASCA Conference School Counseling on Air , Andrea Burston mentioned using Tagboard to follow #ASCA14 from near or far! I thought this was an excellent idea, so I wanted to share it with you on here. Even if you can't attend the ASCA Conference this year you can view tweets, pictures, videos, and other information by using Tagboard. You do not even need any social media accounts to access tags. In fact, you can search other hashtags too! I did post awhile back about using Tagboard . Feel free to check it out as a refresher to learn more about Tagboard and create your own Tagboards . You can check out my #ASCA14 Tagboard or view it below! Comment below,  tweet ,  contact Danielle , or share on the  School Counselor Blog Facebook Page ! Danielle is a K-12 Certified School Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, and blogger at  School Counselor Blog , a place where school counselors share innovative ideas,  cr...

Prepping for a Magical #ASCA14 Conference

Image
I attended my first ASCA conference  in 2011 and I have been hooked ever since.  I have spend the last view days prepping, planning, and thinking about all things ASCA! I can't wait to connect with school counselors during the ASCA National Conference in Orlando, FL! Below I share some tips for prepping and packing for the ASCA conference! Prepping On Tuesday I participated in a live School Counseling on Air Hangout about Making the Most of the ASCA Conference . Panelists shared excellent tips for planning and prepping for the conference. I recommend checking out the conference website before attending the conference. There is valuable information on the 2014 ASCA Conference Page   about arranging for a shuttle to and from the hotel, purchasing discount DisneyWorld tickets, and up to date information about the conference. I highly, highly recommend downloading the 2014 ASCA Conference App or using the web version of the app, even if you do not plan on attendi...

I decided to write a series of posts because I really can't cram everything I want to say into one post! I will give you the highlights of each day I attended the conference, even though the whole conference was amazing! July 3, 2013 - ASCA Conference Day 4 Get Your Blog On!  The final day of the conference blogger buddy  +Andrea Burston  and I presented Get Your Blog On! The purpose of our presentation was to share tips and tricks for starting and maintaining a professional school counseling blog. Andrea and me after our presentation! We drove home the point that if you can write an email, you can write a school counseling blog! It is really not that difficult to write and maintain a blog... you just have to do it! :) We focused on using Blogger to create a blog because it is very user-friendly and we both use it to host our blogs....

July #SCCHAT Transcript: ASCA Conference Recap

Image
Our July #SCCHAT was held on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 8pmEST. The topic was #ASCA13 Conference Recap . The #scchat was moderated by me, Danielle Schultz ( @sch_counselor ). There were great mix of #SCCHAT participants who   attended  #ASCA13 and those who were #notatASCA13. We chatted about how twitter played a role in our conference or non-conference experience, shared favorite resources we learned about during the sessions or by following the #ASCA13 hashtag, gave suggestions of how to get a trip to #ASCA14 funded, and much more! We also discussed ideas for the third annual #SCCHAT Tweet Up at #ASCA14 . The #SCCHAT Tweet Up is hosted by Dr. Erin Mason and me as a way for school counselors who use Twitter to connect in real life. You can view the transcript below or to read the full transcript in a separate browser .
