Daisy Vibes for Your School Counseling Office

Image
Bringing all the happy daisy vibes to my school counseling office! 🌼✨  Two years ago I got the idea from Mrs. Fairchild on Instagram  to add daisy decals in my School Counseling Office. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Adding the daisies brought a cheerful and welcoming vibe to my School Counseling Office. To add the daisies to my School Counseling Office, I purchased one pack of daisy decals . I added the  daisy decals  to my office door. After adding them to my door, I had some  daisy decals  left over so I added them to the side of my desk.  I love how these little flowers brighten up my space.  Recently I saw that Owala had a special edition water bottle with a daisy design. Now I have the perfect water bottle to match my office! 😍  Below I linked the daisy decals , the daisy Owala water bottle , and other items in my School Counseling Office from the photos above. 🎁 Holiday Gift Ideas for School Counselors

Image
All of the gift ideas are items school counselors can use at home or in their school counseling office. Some of these items are things I already own and others are on my holiday list this year!  🎁 🥤  Corkcicle Tumbler - I love Corkcicle Tumblers! They keep your drinks cold for 9+ hours and hot for 3+ hours! I have multiple 16oz tumblers for iced coffee and I just got a 24oz one for keeping hydrated at work. I purchased the holiday tumbler (shown above) for myself on Black Friday. It was on sale then, but now it has an even deeper discount. There is also a coupon code right now -DASHAWAY20 for 20% off site wide. Corkcicle also has an educator discount year round! (You can't use the discount in combination with other discounts though). If you prefer to purchase through Amazon, some Corksicicle items are available on their site.  🫖  Electric Kettle  - This mini Smeg USA electric kettle is on my holiday list. Tabula Rasa: Before Pictures of My School Counseling Office

Image
Yesterday I was able to see my new office for the first time. This is what the office looked like when I first walked in.  A blank slate. I rearranged the furniture to give it a more open feel. I put my desk in the corner so that I could easily roll my chair around the room. I also like that it does not create a barrier between me and students and whoever else decides to come to my office. I also arranged all of the chairs at the small table.  This table will be perfect for small groups and individual meetings with students. There is also a large suite area outside. There is a conference room where I could hold group counseling sessions and a few other locations in the school where I could host larger programs. Before seeing my office I had a color scheme in mind. Now I am not so sure what I want to do. Sometimes you just need to see the space before coming up with any ideas. My new office reminds me a lot of  this previous office of mine . ...

Hoarders: School Counselor Edition

Image
Hi my name is Danielle and I am a school counseling material hoarder. I did not realize the extent of my problem until I went to my storage unit the other day to scope out what supplies I might want to take with me to my new position. This is what was staring back at me... dun dun dun... A hot mess. When I left my previous position I did not take the time to actually organize my stuff when I was putting it in boxes. I knew that I had to go through everything, sort, and organize so I could prioritize what I wanted to take to my new office. I made multiple trips to the storage unit bringing a few boxes with me each time. I went through each box and sorted things into piles: Keep, Throw Away, and Give to Mom (my mom is a teacher and is going to end up getting a ton of my elementary level stuff haha).  The stuff that I decided I wanted to keep I sorted into Middle School Level and Elementary Level. The elementary stuff that I did not end up reserving for my mom is going to...

Setting up a school counseling office can be a daunting task, especially for new school counselors. I am providing you with a series of tips to help you set up your new school counseling office or revamp the space that you already have. I have received lots of questions about items on the walls in my previous school counseling offices. In this post I will highlight some of the items that are most asked about.  Confidentiality Banner and Group Banner In the picture below I have two of the most asked about items in my from my school counseling office.  The "What You Say in Here, Stays in Here" banner and the banner I use for my "rules" in my office. I created both of the banners using  VistaPrint . Both banners are also available for purchase in the  School Counselor Blog Store . Add Color with Storage: Tips for Setting Up Your School Counseling Office

Image
Setting up a school counseling office can be a daunting task, especially for new school counselors. I am providing you with a series of tips to help you set up your new school counseling office or revamp the space that you already have. If you are like most school counselors, you probably cannot paint your walls. You can brighten up your school counseling office by adding colorful storage and accessories - even if you are stuck with a drab wall color.  I will recommend some items you can use to add color to your office and highlight some of the storage items I have used specifically. I recommend sticking with a few bold colors to create a cohesive look for your office. Colorful baskets and bins are a great way to stay organized and add color to your office.  I do the majority of my shopping at Target, so when I saw a colorful basket or a bin on clearance I snagged it! In the picture above I used a green plastic basket to store nerf balls...
