Our July #SCCHAT was held on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 8pmEST. The topic was #ASCA13 Conference Recap . The #scchat was moderated by me, Danielle Schultz ( @sch_counselor ). There were great mix of #SCCHAT participants who   attended  #ASCA13 and those who were #notatASCA13. We chatted about how twitter played a role in our conference or non-conference experience, shared favorite resources we learned about during the sessions or by following the #ASCA13 hashtag, gave suggestions of how to get a trip to #ASCA14 funded, and much more! We also discussed ideas for the third annual #SCCHAT Tweet Up at #ASCA14 . I am still in the process of recovering from all of the excitement of the 2013 ASCA Conference in Philadelphia, PA. I decided to write a series of posts because I really can't cram everything I want to say into one post! I will give you the highlights of each day I attended the conference, even though the whole conference was amazing! June 30, 2013 - ASCA Conference Day 1 Philadelphia, Here I Come! I took the train from Pittsburgh, PA to Philadelphia, PA. Although it was a loooong ride, it was fun. I was able to assemble #SCCHAT Tweet Up name tags, read a book on my Kindle, and meet up with one of my school counselor friends, Courtney. #SCCHAT Nametag Assembly I made the name tags with QR codes so that attendees could scan the QR code for a list of people who attendended the #SCCHAT Tweet Up!   Finished! We will be chatting about the ASCA National Conference in Philadelphia, PA (#ASCA13). #SCCHAT participants will be encouraged to share what they learned during the conference, what their favorite sessions were, what it was like to meet people they talk to on Twitter, and more. I am ridicuously excited for the American School Counselor Association National Conference in Philadelphia, PA! The ASCA Conference is from Sunday, June 30th until Wednesday, July 3rd.  This will be my third time presenting at and attending the conference. Whether this is your first time, 60th time or you are thinking about attending the ASCA Conference next year, here are some tips and information to make your conference experience enjoyable and memorable! Get Ready to Connect!  The absolute best thing about the ASCA National Conference is connecting with other school counselors! There are so many opportunities to meet and interact with school counselors from all over the country and the world! Get out of your comfort zone and talk to others!
