Stay Afloat, It's Almost Summer! End of Year Summer Teacher Gift Idea


Posting about the Hawaiian-Themed End of Year Teacher Gift with Hawaiian shirt koozies and festive drinks made me realize I never posted about the teacher gift we did last year! ðŸ˜± 

One of my favorite End of Year teacher gifts we have ever done was inflatable summer drink floats! These were super fun and silly. Staff loved them!



Below I will share everything you need to re-create this "Stay Afloat, It's Almost Summer!" End of Year Teacher Gift. This would also make a fun gift for a School Counseling Department, Student Services Department, Supervisor, Intern, and more...

To make the "Stay Afloat, It's Almost Summer!" Gift, we purchased:

I made the "Stay Afloat, It's Almost Summer!" printable on Canva. I saved it as a PDF and printed it six to a page on white Astrobrights Cardstock Paper.


To blow up the inflatable drink floats, we borrowed an air pump from the Physical Education Teacher. You could also use a balloon pump.


We assembled the gift by tieing the "Stay Afloat, It's Almost Summer" card to the inflatable drink float. We put some in a basket and others we put on some drinks as examples. We let staff members pick a drink and pick a drink float of their choice. It was fo fun to see what float everyone picked!

This was a great way to add some cheer to the end of the school year!

FREE Career Interest Games and Inventories on VA Career View

I have been searching for fun and interactive career activities to facilitate with students this year. I rediscovered  Virginia Career View , which has a wealth of computer based and printable career activities. I have used this website many times, but each time I visit I am surprised by how truly awesome this site is. In the K-5 Section of  Virginia Career View  there is an interactive game called  Career Town ! I used the  Career Town  game with some 5th grade students last year and they loved it. Career Town has three levels with different games to learn about jobs on each level.  The  Career Town  has an educators guide  for each "level' of the game. Spring Mindfulness Bulletin Board with QR Codes

I created this colorful, interactive, spring bulletin board for our March & April PBIS theme, mindfulness. I made this bulletin board interactive for students by adding QR Codes with different mindfulness activities. Since most things need to be touch-less right now, I thought using QR Codes would be an easy way for students to access some mindfulness activities. If you are not familiar with QR Codes, QR stands for Quick Response. QR Codes are scannable with a smart device camera (iPad, tablet, or smart phone). you can easily make your own QR codes by using a QR Code generator. You can link the QR Code to a website or online document. When the user scans the QR Code they will be directed to the link.
